The Pokeshaw & Black Rock Recreation Council Inc is a Canada Revenue Agency registered Charity with all privileges of charitable status. Any donations made will be given a charitable receipt which is income tax deductible.
A generous donation of $30,000 to the Rec Council from the local fishermen who operate from the Grande Anse Wharf. Funds are part of the Community of Interest Fund which is administered by the Maritime Fishermen's Union. (MFU). This is part of the monies contributed to that Fund by the local fishermen,Winston Coombs, Lyndon Coombs, Morgan Coombs, Arthur Dempsey, Robert DeGrace, Renauld Hache, Rene Hache and Charles Lanteigne. Also contributions to the Fund by the late Walter Coombs Jr.
Thank you for your support and generosity. Funds will be used for major renovations needed at the Pokeshaw Hall.

These vibrant, interactive spaces are important for health and wellbeing in every corner of our country. Breathing new life into our communities also stimulates local economies, creates jobs, and improves the quality of life for Canadians.
Today, Serge Cormier, Member of Parliament for Acadie-Bathurst, announced an investment of $304,000 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) for Pokeshaw & Black Rock Recreation Council Inc. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA.
This support will help Pokeshaw & Black Rock Recreation Council Inc. renovate the Pokeshaw Hall and enhance the surrounding landscaping. The project will allow the council to offer more programs and services to its rural community members and provide easier access to Pokeshaw beach.
Very generous funding of $203,034.00 for major renovations at the Pokeshaw Black Rock Community Hall provided by the Province of New Brunswick , Regional Development Corporation (RDS) . Thank you to RDS for your support as shown in letter of 26 July , 2023 below.
UNI Financial Cooperation Donates $18,525 to Pokeshaw & Black Rock Recreation Council
Pokeshaw, New Brunswick, 27 February 2025— The Pokeshaw & Black Rock Council Inc. is pleased to announce a significant donation of $18,525 from UNI Financial Cooperation. This contribution highlights UNI’s commitment to supporting community initiatives and improving the quality of life for residents in the Pokeshaw and Black Rock areas, surrounding communities and visitors to the region.
The donation will directly support the Recreation Council’s efforts to significantly modernize the Community Hall facilities, purchasing needed equipment, including a defibrillator and supporting community programs, among other things.
This investment will enable the Recreation Council to provide more social opportunities, create a safer and more enjoyable environment, and foster community spirit and participation.
